Just step out from Le Hameau de Borie and you can walk or cycle for miles.

Being situated in an outstandingly place for sports and leisure activities : walking, running, cycling, horse riding, and bird-watching, with slopping hills, woodlands, sunflower-covered valleys, vineyards, The Lot River, the scenery and history is breathtaking.

There are also numerous golf courses in the area

All our local tourist information offices provide very good maps and guides, the nearest are in Fumel and Duravel, both next to the Mairie. Very easy to find, plus the staff are welcoming and helpful.

Remaining one of the most beautiful untouched areas of Southern France, you can enjoy the hot climate, breathtaking scenery and explore the real France away from the crowds whilst mingling with very welcoming locals.

There are many popular wine growing areas within easy reach of Le Hameau de Borie, The Lot-Valley, Buzet, Duras, Bordeaux, St.Emillion, Bergerac, Cahors and many others, plus the majority of local vineyards are open for tours and tastings.

The nearby River Lot is a great place to spend a day to take a boat trip, or visit the medieval town of Cahors, or relax in one of the many riverside restaurants.

Horse Riding

There are many stables in the region that offer rides, and pony treks for amateurs, to advance, including children. The trekking routes are well designed and very adaptable offering riders the best opportunity of seeing the Lot et Garonne & Le Lot, from its Chateaux and Bastides to it rolling hills and local villages.

Swimming Lakes

There are many swimming lakes to choose from in the region. They are open daily throughout the summer and are a great place for all the family. There are lakes located at Tournon d’Agenais, Montaigu de Quercy and at Prats du Périgord (Prats Plage) in the Dordogne, where you will find sandy beaches, children’s play areas, games and activities. You can also buy food and drinks at the restaurant and cafés on the beach front or take advantage of the many picnic areas. Water sports can be enjoyed on the lakes along with canoes and pedaloes.


The Lot et Garonne and Le Lot are renowned for fishing – Fishing permits are required, readily available from Angling Shops or local Tourist Information Centres.

The local Angling Federation publishes a booklet each year about the rivers and the rules for the catch. Permits are called ‘Carte de Pêche’ and come in a number of forms including: ‘Carte Journalière’, for one days fishing in 2nd Category waters and ‘Carte Vacances’, for 15 days consecutive fishing from June 1st to September 30th.

There are specific areas allocated to night fishing for carp. Fishing is also permitted in many of the swimming lakes, in designated areas away from bathers, and other water sport activities.

The Walibi Leisure Park,

is situated close to Agen, offers a great day out for all the family, where the rides, shows and special events offer a dynamic contrast to many of the other activities in the region. Open from May through to the end of October, the park is nestled in over 30 hectares of lush greenery, beneath the gaze of an 18th century castle.

Open 7 days a week from the middle of June through to the end of August. (Open at weekends outside these times)


If you like being energetic and climbing around, this one is for you! There are five rope courses in the trees, two small courses for children, and three progressively more difficult courses for adults. Harnesses and instruction are included or you can enjoy a round of mini-golf. A lovely rural location for taking a picnic. Situated at Lacapelle-Biron, approx 15mins from Le Hameau de Borie. The park opens every day between 9am and 8pm throughout July and August (Open at weekends outside these times)
