Gîte De La Gravee
The house, awarded 3 epis and 4 stars for comfort and charm, is situated in the quiet village of St Michel le Cloucq, 5 kms from Fontenay le Comte, 50 kms from La Rochelle and the beaches of the Atlantic. The ideal base for exploring and enjoying the Vendee Region. Bathroom towels, house linen, and bed linen is provided, the beds are made prior to arrival. A cot, highchair and baby bath can be provided on request.

Le Carabi Gite
Our Gite ‘Le Carabi’ is situated in the courtyard of our B&B/Chambres D’Hotes, La Jolie Maison, in the charming rural village of Le Langon, Vendee, Pay De La Loire. It was once the Stables of the Village Doctor’s Horse ‘Carabi’ and we have very tastefully converted it in to a spacious & bright Holiday Appartment. It Sleeps 4 very comfortably, but can fit another one in on the Sofa bed if needed. There is a large comfy lounge with TV (including English Satelite)& DVD player. A very well equiped Kitchen, with large Fridge/Freezer, washing machine, Microwave, Oven & Coffee maker We have created our gite for people with Mobility Problems, hence we have a very spacious downstairs bedroom a wonderful wheel-in wetroom, with easy access sink. All our door widths have wheelchair access and light switches are at regulation heights. Upstairs, there is a light and airy Mezzanine Bedroom with Double Bed. Outside, there is a private & secure parking area & we have also created a private garden & terrace, especially for the Gite in our own large Garden, for your exclusive use, for those family BBQ’s or just a quiet romantic time, enjoying a bottle of wine (or two!!) We can also offer you Evening Meals, when our dining room at La Jolie Maison is serving, at very competitive rates. We try to cater for most diets,vegetarians welcome. please ask for further details when sending your booking enquiry. ‘Le Carabi’ is a non-smoking Gite We are open all year round, please find below our rental prices. They are based on 1 week minimum bookings, but in Winter Months, we will accept 3 days minimum rentals.

La Tavellerie

La Tavellerie is a big secluded farmhouse suitable for two family or extended family holidays. It comfortably accommodates 10 people. It is very quiet and peaceful and surrounded by its own land, including a small wood that children enjoy playing in. The house was restored 5 years ago and has central heating and plentiful hot water. It is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Terraces on the South East and South West sides provide sun traps and should one need shade there are shady trees under which one can be cool. The shady area overlooks the valley beyond. The pool (12×4 meters) is surrounded by paving and a high fence with a locable gate so children cannot gain unsupervised access.
The climate in the Vendee is generally hot in summer but not so hot that you can\’t enjoy being outside. The winters are mild. The Vendee \’bocage\’ area is quiet, wooded and rural and is relatively unspoilt. There are interesting historical sites to visit and good restaurants in villages nearby. The coast is an hour\’s drive West, La Rochelle is about one and a quarter hour\’s drive South and the Loire valley about one and a half hour\’s drive North.

Chez Gites

The gites themselves are adjoining the owners’ accommodation, where there is ample parking and places to relax, both sunny and shaded – there’s even an orchard !!
Both gites are self-contained and take a maximum of 4 people, one with two double bedrooms, the other having a double bedroom and the option of a twin or double bedroom. Each gite has downstairs kitchen and shower room, with each master bedroom having its own sink.
Each unit is fully equipped for self-catering accommodation, with cooker, microwave, crockery and cutlery and dining room. Your gite is also equipped with colour TV, CD, and radio.
We are on the outskirts of the village of Nieul sur l’Autise, with its famous Abbey, so the French bread at the Boulengerie and un glass of vin rouge at the Hotel are 5 minutes walk away
Within the village, the Creperie or the local Hotel offer a choice of menus. Further afield, l’Escargot de Vendeen at Oulmes and numerous bars and restaurants in Fontenay le Comte have temptations to suit every palette
As well as Pony Trekking and Go-Karting for the energetic, the Marais Poitevin with its boating and fishing is on our doorstep, and the forest at Mervent is less than 20 minutes away. Futuroscope in Poitiers is within an hour’s drive, and for all you lovers of theme parks the Puy du Fou is a mere 50 minutes drive towards to Nantes. The beaches of La Rochelle and Sables d’Olonne are 45 minutes away.
Nieul sur l’Autise itself has an Abbey and the historic town of Fontenay le Comte is 10 minutes away with Terre Neuve chateau well worth a visit

Chez Tara one of two gites on complex she has 3 bedrooms a private garden with terrace and BBQ area there is a large lounge/diner with high ceilings and original beams and is nicely furnished and decorated and has english TV and a dvd player there is a well equipped seperate kitchen with washing machine micro-wave and a full size cooker with gas oven from the back garden there is a second gate that leads out onto a further acre and half of garden for the use of the facilities on offer
